Kurzeme Stroganoff
Kurzeme is one of the regions of Latvia, where it is a simple, homely and very tasty dish.

Ingredients

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Pickled cucumber

    2 piece

  • Sour cream

    150 g

  • Khmeli-suneli

    0.5 tsp

  • The mixture of peppers

  • Bacon

    2 slice

  • Flour

    1 tsp

  • Veal

    600 g

These are the basic ingredients. I have the veal today, but you can use beef, or pork, pre-repulsed and correspondingly increasing the cooking time.

Meat, onions and smoked ham cut into small pieces and quickly fry in vegetable oil. Salt /slightly/, pepper, seasoning hops-suneli, sprinkle with flour and mix thoroughly. Sour cream diluted with approximately 100 ml of water /or broth and add to the skillet the meat. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes. 5 minutes until cooked add the finely chopped pickles. They should only warm up food, but to preserve their crispness. The amount of water and sour cream indicate approximately, and their number depends on the desired density of the finished dish. In the sauce add cream, too, will be very tasty.

And here is the finished dish! Tender meat in a velvety sauce that the pickles and smoked meats lend a unique taste and aroma. Garnish will suit any.
