Cooking
Kasha varnichkes - a traditional dish of Ashkenazi Jews. And it is a favorite dish of our old Odessa-Jewish families. It is cooked typically with the addition of homemade noodles, but in the absence of such, you can use regular store-bought shells (cones) or other type of pasta. The dish turns out very hearty, can become a full-fledged lunch or dinner. To start prepare food: cut the onion into half rings or cubes.
Homemade noodles I had, so they took seashells. It is important to choose those pasta that ready will not be too hard, they should be soft after boiling and, at least vaguely, to recall the home-made noodles.
Cook the buckwheat according to the standard recipe, water, salt. Also in slightly salted water, boil the horns. Heat oil in a pan. Put in the onion and saute over medium heat, after 5 minutes add the sugar.
Continue sauté onions, stirring frequently, 10 minutes or until the onions until browned and will become a beautiful Golden color.
Ready wernicki (our shells) mix carefully with buckwheat and fried onions together with the oil in which it was passerovannye.
Season with a generous handful of salt and freshly ground pepper. The dish is served hot as a side dish to meat or as a separate dish.
Beleave! Up to new meetings!
