Tomato puree for the winter
A significant portion of domestic canned tomato, sauces, ketchup and juices is made not on the basis of fresh tomato and industrial tomato paste. About 98% of Russia's need for tomato paste are provided through imports. The leader in terms of production of tomato paste in the world is California, USA, which produces almost 2 times more tomato paste than in China and Italy, in second place. Domestic producers diluted tomato paste 40 % to 24% and sell. It is often added starch, salt more than normal, use raw materials of low quality with lots of spices. So better prepare your own tomato puree, and keep my family safe from chemicals!
