Description

Gratin of cabbage
Very tasty spring dish. Can be served as a main dish or a side dish to meat.

Ingredients

  • Cabbage

    1 kg

  • Cream

    500 ml

  • Cheese

    100 g

  • Soy sauce

    3 Tbsp

  • Butter

    1 Tbsp

  • Flour

    1 Tbsp

  • Mustard

    1 Tbsp

  • Bread crumbs

    2 handful

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

A young cabbage cut into slices.

Boil the cabbage in salted boiling water for about 5 minutes. Drain in a colander and drain off excess water. Lay the cabbage in a greased, ovenproof form. Pour 3 tbsp. of soy sauce.

In a saucepan heat the butter, add the flour and bring on low heat until light Golden brown. Gradually add cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add the mustard, salt and pepper. Boil for a few minutes. Stir in 3/4 of the grated cheese.

Pour the sauce over the cabbage. Mix the remaining cheese with the breadcrumbs. Pour on the sauce. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 40-50 minutes.
