Rice with green peas
Very common in Syria the dish. How to prepare a festive table, and on a daily basis. The rice always turns out white and crumbly. A great side dish to chicken or meat. The rice is served thick yogurt in a bowl.

Ingredients

  • Green peas

    400 g

  • Figure

    2 cup

  • Melted butter

    4 Tbsp

  • Garlic

    2 tooth

  • Broth

    4.5 cup

  • Salt

I usually cook fresh or frozen green peas (harvested myself). Take long grain rice type "basmati".

Wash rice and soak in water. In a saucepan melt the butter, squeeze in the garlic and fry 1 min Then add green peas and fry for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain the water from the rice, pour it in a pan for the peas and stir fry everything together for another couple of minutes. Then add the hot broth, add salt, bring to a boil, turn down the gas the gas to low and cover. After 5 minutes, when the rice will absorb some of the water, all carefully stir to distribute the peas and don't interfere until tender (15-20 min). Bon appetit!
