Description
I represent to Your attention the traditional pastry for the fifth week of lent, which is dedicated to ven. John Climacus*. There's cookies in the shape of stairs made from rye or wheat dough, slightly sweetened and slightly salted, with the addition of a small amount of vegetable oil. Cookies you can shape the flagella, and can be cut with cutter. The number of steps make the 7, 12 or 20. The recipe itself was not, had to think out and idea from the book "the Orthodox meal. From carnival to Easter". Try it ;)

Cooking
Mix both kinds of flour, add the vegetable oil and mint syrup, mix well.
Start kneading the dough.
Roll the dough, cut into thin strips. Each strip to roll in the flagellum. Cut into 2 "columns" and 7 "rail" for one of the "ladder". I just turned 8 the "ladders". The connection of the "columns" and "beams" you can lubricate with water for best adhesion.
Cookies gently shift on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cook at 200*C for about 15 minutes before a small blush. Cool.
