Description

SATA-andagi
SATA-andagi - traditional sweets from the island of Okinawa. Resemble a blossoming flower Bud. Hard crispy crust hides a thick and sweet syrup. In Okinawan dialect SATA means "sugar", Anda is an "oil", and Aga - "deep-fry". These sweets are sometimes called Okinawan donuts.

Cooking

step-0
The flour with the baking powder sift in a bowl. In another bowl, pour the sugar with salt. Break the egg into a Cup and mix the yolk protein. (I made a double batch, so the photo of ingredients and more donuts.)
step-1
Strain the egg to remove streaks and mix well with sugar and salt. Add the flour and with a spatula cutting movements knead the dough. The dough should get quite thick and plastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little flour.
step-2
Pour oil in a skillet (or pan) with a layer of about 3 cm and put on fire. Oil temperature should be around 140° C (if you throw a small piece of dough, it will slowly start to emerge). It is important not to overheat the oil! Slightly reduce the heat. Grease hands with little oil and take a piece of dough the size of a walnut or a little more. Roll into ball and dip into the oil. Make as many balls to the casserole still left enough space so as andagi will increase in volume. I make a few balls and then spread them into the oil one by one.
step-3
A little poshevelit balls with a spatula to put them off from the bottom. They will continue to spin yourself, our support is almost not needed. Fry the donuts need on medium heat for 7-9 minutes, until Golden brown.
step-4
Minute 3 they start to smile (cracks form).
step-5
Ready donuts put on a dish lined with kitchen paper (to remove excess oil). And serve immediately to the hot tea.
step-6
So they look inside. Itadakimasu!
