Description

Toffee
Autumn — time for bright warm colors. Yellow, red and orange tones here and there, shining through the gray rain and gloomy fog. But summer doesn't want to leave just like that, it always tries to repeat itself in a short Babi or "Indian" summer. One of the symbols of this turn of the seasons is physalis. Bright, sweet fruit native to America. We used to see as a decoration in desserts, but now he will be the main ingredient of a dish.

    300 g

  • Lemon juice

    2 Tbsp

    400 g

Cooking

step-0
The main ingredients of meals. Notice that 300 grams is the weight of the already purified from the leaves of physalis, that is, we must buy about 400g (with the "insurance" from the fact that some berries can be spoiled and unfit for cooking).
step-1
Physalis cleaned from the leaves, wash and pierce each berry thoroughly with a toothpick.
step-2
Put berries in a pot, fill it with sugar.
step-3
Add water and put on medium heat, without covering with a lid.
step-4
Once the sugar is melted, increase the heat. When the contents of the pan starts to boil, throw the cinnamon stick. Supported by boiling for 10 minutes.
step-5
Diminish the heat to low. Add lemon juice and leave to cook (again, no lid) for about two hours.
step-6
After this time remove the cinnamon stick...
step-7
... Ready for the jam closing in scalded with boiling water banks.
