Peasant soup (Laendliche Gemuesesuppe)
Very hearty WINTER soup. Though it is written that he is a vegetable, meat still in it. For vegetarians - you can cook without meat, it would still be delicious!

Ingredients

  • Beef

    500 g

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Pearl barley

    50 g

  • Water

    1.8 l

  • Black pepper

  • Bay leaf

  • Potatoes

    3 piece

  • Carrots

    1 piece

  • The Apium graveolens Dulce

    1 piece

  • Tomato

    3 piece

  • Turnips

    0.5 piece

  • Green peas

    100 g

  • Spices

  • Vegetable oil

    2 Tbsp

Cooking

Slightly fry the meat in vegetable oil

cut onion into cubes, rinse the barley

add to meat, pour nearly 2 litres of water. I always cook beef in a pressure cooker (faster), so lay the products at once, and cook for about 40 minutes. If the meat is cooking in the pan would be about 1.5 hours.

Until the meat with barley is cooking, peel the other vegetables

cut potatoes, turnip and carrot cubes or cubes. Celery I have a frozen (after purchase always shred and freeze, retains color and taste).

after 5 minutes of the boil add the diced tomatoes, do not forget to add salt, you can add favorite seasonings, diminish the heat to minimum and cook until tender

At the end of cooking put a Bay leaf
