Turnip soup
Hearty, delicious, inexpensive soup. Perfect for fasting.

Ingredients

  • Rutabaga

    1 piece

  • Carrots

    1 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Barley groats

  • The Apium graveolens Dulce

  • Turmeric

    0.5 tsp

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

Cooking

It's rutabaga. Wash it well, peel and cut into cubes.

Carrots grate on a coarse grater. Onion peel and stick in it two dry cloves (after cooking I throw it away).

Drop into boiling turnips, carrots, celery and onion.

Rinse barley and add to soup. Add turmeric. Salt and pepper to taste. Boil for 20 minutes. Rutabaga becomes transparent.
