Description
This recipe (like many of mine), come from the Soviet times. I worked in the far North, at a defense plant, and after the weekend we told you what to feed your family and treated each other different Goodies. Here one of the employees brought a jar of herring, well and shared the recipe. Herring is so fond of her that I even returned to St. Petersburg (it was Leningrad), shared the recipe with everyone. The recipe had continued success. Unfortunately, not all photos turned out, took a few, more or less acceptable.

Cooking
To prepare the herring, butcher. The site has a master class of how to cut herring. Onions to chop half rings.
Herring cut into slices, measure out the necessary spices.
In a saucepan pour 2 cups of hot water, add spices, put on fire and after boiling, boil 10 minutes on medium heat. Herring put in a jar, the 1st layer of onions, then pieces of herring, then the 2nd layer of onions and herring.
Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 3 hours, but preferably overnight.
I cooked the potatoes, brushed with olive oil infused with garlic, baked with cheese, and gave her a herring. Marinated onions.
