Description

Tartine
It was almost 40 years ago... a Young French chef from Cannes fell in love with a pretty Dutch girl. He so loved that he moved to live in her home town of Valkenswaard. Opened the restaurant"L"Orangerie". His name was Jerome Le Fevre. Inspired by his beautiful Muse, Anneke, he came up with a sophisticated appetizer, which was served in his restaurant. This signature appetizer for lunch was a tremendous success. But since the cook was small in stature, it is affectionately called in Dutch "Zerosmoke" i.e."kid Jerome". Later this was called and a snack - small hot sandwiches (tartines) with brie cheese and nuts. So this tartine is called to this day. Still Jerome and his girlfriend Anneke live in this city. Still there is this restaurant, and to this day there popular this tartine.
