Continue to read Rose Elliot's "The bean book". Was surprised to find almost "own" the recipe: the soup that I cooked 25 years. The author calls it his favorite standby soup cooks it, when it is necessary to quickly feed a big company. I think it is basic and is prepared each time with some additions.

Cooking
For the soup needed:
Peel the onion and cut into arbitrarily. Fry in butter in soup pot for 5 minutes. Add the lentils and crushed garlic, not crushed in the press, and it just crushed the knife on the Board. It and clean it will be easier and your flavor it will give gradually.
Cook, stirring, about 1 minute. Pour water or broth. Bring to a boil and cook until the lentils are tender - about 15 minutes or in a pressure cooker - 5 minutes.
Ready soup crushed with a blender and season with lemon juice, salt and freshly ground pepper.
