                            Heat the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic. Cook, stirring from time to time, for about 5 minutes, until onion is soft.                        
                     
                                    
                                                
                        
                            Add the tomato paste. Cook, stirring, for a minute.                        
                     
                                    
                                                
                        
                            Add the tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook for 10 minutes - 15.                        
                     
                                    
                                                
                        
                            If you are using dry Basil, add it for 5 minutes until cooked sauce. If fresh, then at the very end.                        
                     
                                    
                                                
                        
                            The sauce is ready when it slightly thickens.
