Indian dhal
I want to make my modest contribution to the Treasury of recipes that nobody will prepare, and submit for your consideration the classic version of the Indian dhal* coconut milk.

Ingredients

  • Lentils

    200 g

  • Coconut milk

    250 ml

  • Coconut shavings

    2 Tbsp

  • Garlic

    2 tooth

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Ginger

    8 g

  • Vegetable oil

    4 Tbsp

  • Cinnamon

    1 tsp

  • Sugar

    0.5 tsp

  • Chili

    0.5 tsp

  • Coriander

    3 Tbsp

  • Water

    250 ml

  • Garam masala

    1 tsp

  • Salt

Here is a set of products (see ingredients) that will help us to prepare this simple dish.

The lentils, wash thoroughly with cold water.

Finely chop the onion, garlic and ginger. Spread on a pan with vegetable oil, add there cinnamon, sugar and ground chilli. Fry all together until transparent bow.

Put the washed lentils in a pan, mix with fried onion and coconut.

Add coconut milk and water. Cook on low heat for about 20 minutes.

After this time remove from heat, add garam masala and chopped coriander, mix thoroughly. If you wish, you can salt them a bit.

Put in a small bowl and served hot! *Dhal is a traditional Indian dish of boiled legumes.
