Frico with potatoes and onions-
In my opinion, Italian cuisine is inconceivable without a home (a peasant) recipes. Such dishes not found in restaurants, they are prepared only at home. And they are very tasty. One of these dishes - Friko from the Northern Italian province of Friuli. From simple ingredients - potatoes, onions, cheese and smoked bacon it's a masterpiece!

Ingredients

  • Potatoes

    3 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Brisket

    120 g

  • Cheese

    300 g

  • Salt

  • Thyme

  • Black pepper

  • Water

    1 cup

  • Vegetable oil

Chop the onion rings. Bacon - strips.

Potato peel, wash, dry and cut into slices.

In a heated pot or the skillet put the bacon, melt a little, add the onion. Roast it to Golden.

Add the potatoes and fry a little it. Pour a glass of boiling water, bring to boil and simmer covered for about 30 minutes.

The dish should not be runny, the extra water should evaporate! Mass should not be like mashed potatoes, pieces of potatoes should be felt!

Remove the skillet from the heat, add grated cheese. Stir. Salt and pepper to taste. I added a pinch of thyme. Important! Cheese preferably to take these varieties, of solid.

The weight to shift on a heated with oil pan, flatten with a spoon into a pancake and fried on both sides.

"Frico" is served hot. With toasted dry sausage (type of sausage) or with cubes of polenta. The cake is cut into segments - portions.
