Scrapple - a kind of meatloaf, in contrast to the usual bake rolls, it cooks in the pan. I love to read classic detectives: Agatha Christie, Conan Doyle, Chesterton. Rex stout with his inimitable Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin is among my favorite authors... Nero Wolfe is the owner of a large stone mansion near 35th West street, new York. His hobby is available only to wealthy people: a large greenhouse on the top floor contains ten thousand orchids, is looked after by a special gardener. Flowers is a "sacred" thing Wolfe. Another, no less sacredly cherished pastime is food, the preparation of which occupied virtuoso Fritz Brenner. Through the pages of the novels of Rex stout scattered so many descriptions of delicious dishes, which in 1973 was published in a special "Cookbook Nero Wolfe". This recipe was taken directly from there and changed a little (original attached below).

    0.5 kg

  • Water

  • Salt

  • Corn flour

    0.6 cup

  • Flour

    0.17 cup

  • Rosemary

    0.5 tsp

  • Parsley

    1 tsp

Cooking

Take the meat - pork is my "Extra" (flesh), 0.5 kg.

Cut the meat into pieces, put to boil on a slow fire. Cook for 2 hours. 10 minutes before end of cooking add 1/4 tsp of salt and pepper on the tip of a knife.

Take out the meat from the broth. The broth is filtered through two layers of cheesecloth. 1 Cup broth to the molded and set aside. Pour the remaining broth into a saucepan and put on slow fire. The meat and left the broth cools.

Nero Wolfe ate scrapple with maple syrup. I had a Breakfast like this: put a piece of bread rolls, and top with cheese and fresh tomatoes (ATTENTION! Very satisfying!).
