Donuts
"I love you& quot; my school years and always remember them with awe in the heart. First class, first lesson, first grade teacher, who could forget that?! Everything was so new, exciting and beautiful. And I remember the doughnuts, which were eaten after lessons in cooking near the school. Warm, tender, slightly sweet from the powdered sugar they seemed simply divine.

Ingredients

  • Flour

    500 g

  • Water

    225 g

  • Milk

    125 g

  • Sugar

    40 g

  • Vegetable oil

    20 g

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

  • Yeast

    3 g

  • Salt

    2 g

  • Soda

    1 g

  • Saffron

    1 pinch

  • Orange zest

  • Powdered sugar

Cooking

Sift flour and mix with yeast.

In a saucepan pour the water, milk, add sugar, baking powder and a pinch of saffron. To heat until boiling and allow to cool to lukewarm condition.

The flour and the yeast pour in the bucket of a bread machine or mixer, pour the cooled liquid and stir, give it a rest for 10-15 minutes. Then start kneading.

After 10 minutes add the egg, knead well, add salt, then oil. Knead for another 10 minutes.

Let rest the dough twice.

Turn the dough out onto a work surface sprinkled with flour and lightly knead. Form a ball, cover it with cellophane and let rise.

Roll out the dough with a thickness of 1,5-2 cm and cut out doughnuts.

Vegetable oil preheat to 180 C and fry the doughnuts on both sides until Golden brown. Serve dusted with icing sugar and orange zest.
