Description
Muhallabia - very popular in Egypt as well as UAE, Turkey and just to the East, desert. It's essentially milk pudding without eggs. It is served not only cold but also hot. Classic megalania served generously sprinkled with chopped pistachios and sprinkled with rose water. But, in Egypt, is very popular mehallabiyu sprinkle with coconut, ground cinnamon, raisins or any nuts. The recipe is simple, but the result pleased me and what is most amazing, and warm too... help yourselves, my dear!

It's very simple. Add to sugar a little vanilla.
In a glass of cold milk, stir well the corn starch.
The rest of the milk to pour into a suitable saucepan and slowly heat over low heat. In warm milk add sugar and vanilla and stirring constantly, bring to dissolve the sugar. Pour a thin stream while stirring the milk mixture with the starch.
Without ceasing to stir, bring to boil and cook on very low heat for 4-5 minutes.
Put the pudding into a glass, leaving a space on top for the nuts. To cool down a bit. Cover with a cloth and put into the fridge for a couple of hours. Although, this dessert is served hot, so you can try...
Chop the pistachios with a knife into pieces. I sprinkled the pudding with pistachios immediately, still warm, but you can sprinkle and cold pudding.
To get dessert from the fridge, sprinkle with rose water and enjoy... or just a sprinkle of cinnamon... delicious!
