The frozen cherries defrost, put under pressure, to drain liquid, chop in a blender or grinder.
Apples grate them with the skin. Mix apples and cherries, add sugar and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thick. Prunes wash with hot water and finely chop. Add the prunes to cooked fruit. You can add a few drops of cherry or almond essences. Mix well and let the mixture cool.
