Gatto
Italian potato casserole with ham and cheese... the perfect Sunday dish!

Ingredients

  • Potatoes

    1 kg

  • Ham

    300 g

  • Dutch cheese

    150 g

  • Mozzarella

    100 g

  • Chicken egg

    4 piece

  • Butter

    80 g

  • Bread crumbs

    50 g

First, boil the potatoes in their jackets. When the potatoes are still warm, peel and press it into a puree. Then cut the ham in small cubes, cheese - plates, mozzarella - slices.

In the finished likeness of mashed potatoes, add the butter (room temperature) 4 yolks and 2 protein, ham and parsley (preferably fresh).

All the ingredients mix well.

Prepare a baking dish Gatto (I have a cake form with a diameter of 21 cm), grease it with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. In the form put half of the mashed potatoes, shape the edges... then lay out a plate of cheese and again the remaining puree.

Flatten with a wet spoon top Gatto, liberally sprinkle with breadcrumbs and put 3-4 small plate of butter. Form with Gatto put in preheated oven (200 degrees) for 45 minutes (while Gatto does not acquire lightly Golden color).

After cooking Gatto leave to cool slightly. The dish can be eaten warm, cold... I like the warm version. Bon appetit!
