Recipe taken from the wonderful book Alesya Ivanova, "Ukrainian home cooking". My family are big fans of herring, and go past just could not. The pancakes turned out very tasty, and both hot and cold.

Cooking
Beat the eggs with salt, add sour cream, beer. Mix well. Gradually add the flour. If you lower a spoon or whisk to the batter, it should flow down a stream, not drops.
The herring, cut into small pieces. Finely chop the onion.
Add sour cream, mix well. On top garnish with green onions. This so-called porridge herring. You can spread on toast, bread to make canapés.
Bake our beer pancakes. smear fish gruel.
