Sweet pastries
Maremma of sfratti - sweet pastries with a thin crust of fragile dough and filling of honey, walnuts, orange peel, anise and nutmeg.

Ingredients

  • Flour

    400 g

  • Chicken egg

    3 piece

  • Powdered sugar

    50 g

  • Dry white wine

    0.5 cup

  • Vanilla

    1 pack

  • Walnuts

    300 g

  • Honey

    150 g

  • Powdered sugar

    1 Tbsp

  • Orange zest

    2 Tbsp

  • Liqueur

    50 ml

  • Nutmeg

    1 pinch

  • Anis

    1 pinch

  • Black pepper

    1 pinch

  • Carnation

    2 piece

1. Prepare the stuffing. In a small saucepan, melt the honey with sugar, bring to a boil.

2. Then remove from heat and add crushed nuts, orange zest, crushed the buds of cloves, a small pinch of pepper,

3... anise, nutmeg and liqueur.

4. Pour sifted flour on the work surface of the table, make it deeper and mix together with eggs, icing sugar, vanilla and wine. Mix thoroughly to obtain a smooth dough.

5. With a rolling pin roll the dough out into a thin layer and cut it into 2 strips with a length of 20 cm and a width of about 15 cm.

7... and roll into tubes (20 cm long and 7 cm in diameter), then wrap the ends. Place sfratti on a baking tray, lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated 190 C oven for 20 min., turning once.

8. Sfratti served cold, sliced 3 cm wide and enjoy your tea!
