Delicious bread that is traditionally eaten in the first day of lent in Greece.

Ingredients

  • Water

    290 ml

  • Yeast

    1 pack

  • Flour

    500 g

  • Sugar

    0.5 tsp

  • Salt

    0.5 tsp

  • Sesame

Yeast and sugar, pour 150 ml of warm water and leave for 15 min.

Hands knead the dough, gradually adding the remaining water. Knead the dough 10 min. After that divide the dough into 2 parts.

Every part put on a pre-greased baking sheet, mash with your hands, making an oval flat cakes. With your finger make holes randomly lubricated with water, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Put in oven to 50*C for 1.5 hours. Then bake at 200*C for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 180*C and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until bread has reached the desired color.
