In one bowl mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and star anise.
In another bowl mix the egg, champagne (sparkling water), Apple juice, sour cream and butter. Beat with a mixer for 2-3 minutes.
In the dry mixture gradually add the liquid ingredients, continuing to beat with a mixer at low speed. Pour into a form (I have the split laid the parchment).
Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 50-55 minutes. The cooled cake sprinkle with powdered sugar.
