Pie
Cool de Dombes is a French yeast cake with filling. I made the filling for the pie of meat, green peas and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • Flour

    500 g

  • Milk

    250 ml

  • Sugar

    1 tsp

  • Yeast

    1 tsp

  • Chicken egg

    1 piece

  • Butter

    50 g

  • Yolk egg

    1 piece

  • Sesame

  • Salt

  • Meat

    300 g

  • Carrots

    1 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Green peas

    2 Tbsp

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • Nutmeg

    1 tsp

  • Vegetable oil

Cooking

In warm milk dissolve the yeast.

Sift the flour, add the salt, sugar and egg.

Add the melted butter.

Pour the milk and knead the dough. Put the dough in a warm place to increase in two times.

Meat stew in a pan until semi cooked.

Carrots grate on a coarse grater. Onions cut into half rings. Stew with vegetable oil carrots and onions.

Green peas boil in water for 5-7 minutes. Drain and add to the carrots.

Add meat and stir.

Roll the dough into a circle slightly larger than the form itself. Put the dough in the form and wrap the edges inwards.

In the center put the filling. The dough grease with a yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the pie for about 45 minutes at 180-200 degrees. Before serving the cake cut into small pieces. I got the meat fat, so excess fat left in the dough, the cake turned out just amazing. I recommend to try. Bon appetit!
