Description

Jam of red currant with orange
Roode Krenten Conserf... red currant with oranges and raisins. The recipe is found with reference to the American cookbook 1947 edition. This jam was cooked in Central Michigan, in a small region inhabited by Danes. Jam turns out very tasty, with a charming hint of orange.

Ingredients

  • Red currants

    2.4 l

  • Raisins

    680 g

  • Orange

    4 piece

  • Sugar

Cooking

step-0
Crush them currants. Or processed in a blender.
step-1
In a blender, chop the raisins and the oranges (with peel).
step-2
Mix the fruits, weigh them and add the same amount of sugar. I got 3.2 kg.
step-3
Cook until thick, stirring frequently to not burn. I cooked this jam constantly, since I have not had neither the time nor the inclination. Several times I brought it to a boil and left to cool. So the jam has thickened on their own, without my participation )))
step-4
I got almost 4 liters of jam. Can be stored under a plastic cover in a cool place. Bon appetit!
