Meat casserole a La Mitlof
This recipe I found on an American website, offer you a modified version. Meatloaf is a traditional American dish, literally translated as meat loaf - is shaped like a loaf of bread. If you like dish of minced meat (stuffed cabbage, dumplings, etc.), then this recipe will have your taste. The dish is not a holiday, but on weekdays that's it. Even lean beef is soft, juicy casserole.

Ingredients

  • Minced meat

    900 g

  • Chicken egg

    2 piece

  • Onion

    1 piece

  • Green bell pepper

    0.5 piece

  • Garlic

    1 tooth

  • Milk

    0.75 cup

  • Bread crumbs

    0.75 cup

  • Greens

    2 Tbsp

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

    2 tsp

  • Vegetable oil

    2 Tbsp

  • Ketchup

    0.333 cup

  • Mustard

    1 tsp

  • Honey

    1 tsp

Cooking

Heat oil in a pan, put the finely sliced onion and cook until transparent over medium heat (3-5 minutes), add the finely sliced green pepper and garlic, passeruem a few more minutes. Remove from heat, allow to cool.

In a large dish spread the stuffing

Add salt, pepper, milk, bread crumbs, herbs and sauteed onion/pepper/garlic; stir. If you like spicy, you can add a little hot pepper

Add eggs and again mix well

In a greased form spread the stuffing

Knead sauce: ketchup + mustard + honey. *The quantity of sauce depends on the form in which you will bake: the wider, the more sauce you will need. The sauce is used for "sealing" of the meat to dry out. So even if you don't like ketchup, the sauce is still necessary to put, after baking, it can be removed (it is not absorbed).

Put the sauce, close the form with foil and put in a preheated 200*C oven for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes remove the foil and bake for 35 minutes. *Cooking time depends on the shape: if it is low and wide, the casserole will be baked faster. If you used fatty meat for 10 minutes before end of baking, the fat can be drained (to casserole in it did not swim).

Remove from oven, allow to stand for 10 minutes and then cut into portions. Garnish will suit buckwheat, potatoes, lentils. With sour cream is also very tasty )))
