Found this recipe in a magazine. Now I cook this dish. At the expense of vegetables lentils are very juicy, not dry. And the spices are very fragrant. In the lentils a lot of protein and therefore can replace meat. I use as a separate dish, not a garnish. But like who wants. This is my first recipe posted here, do not judge strictly. Coincidence I found one, but there's spices and methods of cooking other.

Cooking
Onions and carrots wash, peel and finely chop.
Saute the vegetables in vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or heavy saucepan.
In the end add chopped garlic.
Enumerated and washed lentils, put in the pot with the vegetables. The lentils I'm not pre-soaked. Stir.
Pour 2 cups of cold water and bring to a boil.
Cook under lid on low heat until lentils are soft. From the color of the beans depends on the cooking time, red lentils will be ready in 30 minutes, green is brewed longer. I had the green, ready in 45 minutes.
To taste sprinkle with salt and add spices. Leave it languishing for another 5 minutes.
The dish is served with rice, can as a separate dish, and who wants meat.
