Large white beans baked in the oven
Large white beans are very popular in Greece. It serves a variety of dishes: baked, make mashed potatoes, salads; served as a separate dish and as a garnish.

Ingredients

  • Beans

    450 g

  • Carrots

    2 piece

  • The Apium graveolens Dulce

    2 piece

  • Tomato

    3 piece

  • Sugar

    1 tsp

  • Tomato paste

    2 Tbsp

  • Salt

  • Peppers red hot chilli

  • Spices

Cooking

Soak the beans overnight. Scrape the carrots. All vegetables to be washed.

Beans cook for hours. To drain the water. Beans will increase about two times.

Carrots grate on a grater. Tomatoes and celery cut into small slices. Vegetables lightly fry in vegetable oil.

Tomato paste diluted in a glass of water and cover the vegetables. Add sugar, salt, pepper and herbs to taste. Simmer under a lid for 15-20 minutes.

Mix the vegetables and beans, put in shape and bake in the oven for about one hour at 180 °C.

The dish is ready and can be eaten both hot and cold. Bon appetit!
